ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Immerse yourself in Bruce Lee’s story as a young man trying to figure it all out – right here in Seattle.

This Dramatic Connections Workshop is an experience to enhance the upcoming Seattle Children’s Theatre (SCT) production of “Young Dragon: A Bruce Lee Story.” The workshop will have kids on their feet, stretching their imaginations, while deepening their knowledge about the characters, setting, and themes of the play. The workshop curriculum is developed and presented by SCT Teaching Artists in the form of a one hour pre-show workshop.

Participants and family members attending the workshop will receive tickets to watch "Young Dragon," which is on view from February 19-March 15, 2026. Click on this link to learn more about the production.

At least one parent/guardian is required to stay at the workshop with each participant. While a few more family members of the participant can come to watch, we kindly ask for a limit of 3 family members per participant coming in due to space constraints.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTISTS
Maia Nowack (they/them) grew up in Seattle, where SCT was a big part of developing their love for theatre. They graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in Theatre, where they discovered their love for teaching. Maia is returning to SCT after some time away and completing an MA in Dance Pedagogy at the University of the Arts in Helsinki, Finland. Maia was also a drama school intern in 2015 and a teaching artist apprentice at SCT, and has experience teaching dance, movement, and drama to students of all ages. Maia is passionate about creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where students can expand their creativity.
