Summercamp 2025 - Harvest Heroes (Food Camp)

This event is no longer on sale.

Monday August 4

9:30 AM  –  4:00 PM

During this fun and flavorful food camp, campers will help to create delicious, tasty, and healthy dishes made from the ingredients harvested and grown from local gardens and farms in our community! As they cook, they will learn more about the rich histories, stories and the work that these gardens and organizations do for our community, and why they are so crucial to our neighborhood.

We’ll be taking the inspiration we’ve gathered from our field trips to Yes Farms and Danny Woo Garden and using that creativity for our different art projects that will complement our cooking sessions. One example of what we’ll be creating in our art classroom are custom aprons and chef hats that will share our Individual chef-styles!

On the final day, campers will also be able to decorate their very own recipe book full of the recipes they have learned throughout the week to take home and then share their recipes with their friends and family!

During our week of Summer Camp, we will be making and testing the different creations that we’ve cooked. Please note that campers with severe allergies or dietary restrictions may want to use their own discretion when deciding to join us for this week of camp. Foods that we will try will contain gluten and while we will try to limit cross-contact with allergens such as tree nuts, in some spaces it may be difficult to ensure that no cross-contact has occurred. Please inquire with Nat Puttavon at nputtavon@wingluke.org or by phone (206)623-5124 ext. 213 to see if this camp is right for your family.

Note: Registering for the 8/4 date will register your camper for the full week (8/4 - 8/8) of camp
