In-Person: The Filipino Presence in Seattle's CID

Saturday October 26

Other dates...

11:00 AM  –  1:00 PM

Join us as we pay tribute to the Filipino pioneers who operated businesses in the CID through a presentation by Wing Luke Museum Preservation Consultant Cynthia Mejia-Giudici and highlighting these five sites: CDA Burgos Lodge #10, Filipino Social and Improvement Club, Liberty Barbershop, Little Divisoria and Manila Cafe.
Please note: This event was a zoom program in June 2024, but it was just too good to pass up the opportunity for a hybrid presentation on-site at the Wing Luke Museum!
Community members who lived and worked in the CID will share their stories, including Marian “Bengie” Santos (on-site tbd); Feda Sumulong (on-site tbd); Pio deCano, Jr. (on-site presentation) and Dorothy Cordova (on-site presentation).

Community Partners: Ethnic Heritage Council and Filipino American National Historical Society.

Sponsored by 4Culture and the Tateuchi Foundation.
