Book Talk: Those Who Helped Us

Join author Ken Mochizuki and illustrator Kiku Hughes for a virtual book preview of the new graphic novel, Those Who Helped Us: Assisting Japanese Americans During the War. This story is told through the eyes of a basketball-loving Sumiko Tanaka, an 11 year old, as she adjusts to life during that era. This story highlights the actions and experiences of Sumiko's neighbors and friends left behind in Seattle.
 
Co-published by the Wing Luke Museum and Chin Music Press, this project was funded, in part, by a grant from the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Japanese American Confinement Sites Grant Program.
